Increased digitalization in all sectors, from public services to the private sector, has made **cybersecurity** a critical issue for modern society. For this reason, the legislator acted to create umbrella legislation regarding cybersecurity in Turkey and enacted **Law No. 7545 on Cybersecurity**. The law prescribed fundamental principles regarding cybersecurity and important definitions related to cybersecurity also introduced new crimes and misdemeanors.
Law No. 7545 on Cybersecurity was addressed by experts at the event “The New Legal Ground for Cybersecurity in Turkey: National and International Dimensions,” jointly organized by the Istanbul Bar Association IT Law Commission and the Personal Data Protection Commission, where Attorney Celil Aktaş moderated the first session.
